How did Word Of The Year start?
Oxford Languages is known to be one of the first organizations to have a Word of the Year.
According to Oxford University Press:
We know that language matters; this is a concept that continues to be close to our hearts. The Oxford Word of the Year is a word or expression that we can see has attracted a great deal of interest over the last 12 months.

According to Oxford Languages:
“Every year, candidates for Word of the Year are debated and one is eventually chosen that is judged to reflect the ethos, mood, or preoccupations of that particular year and to have lasting potential as a word of cultural significance.”
What does Rizz mean?
Oxford University Press defines Rizz as “a colloquial word, defined as style, charm, or attractiveness; the ability to attract a romantic or sexual partner”.
The word’s etymology is believed to have been taken from the middle of “charisma,” much like “fridge” derives from refrigerator.
There is more than one definition of “rizz”, however.
